I Belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

I LOVE being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! You know what's coming up?! General Conference!!!! I love General Conference!! It's so exciting to me to think that Church members from all around the world will be gathering to hear council from the great leaders of the Church. I love the spirit I feel. I love the testimonies that are shared. I love the power the hymns bring to each session. I love the humble prayers that are offered. I love seeing and hearing the brethren... and sisteren (hehe ;)). I love everything about it. I am so excited and I can't wait for Saturday 10:00 a.m. to come! I'm especially excited about this Conference  because they're showing a special documentary on the Provo MTC between the Sunday sessions (I think it's the Sunday sessions). I'm taking mission preparation for institute and that's what my teacher said, along with facts like: more cereal is consumed there than anywhere else and they give more haircuts than any other barbershop in the world. Go figure. I'm so so super excited!! I really, REALLY want to serve a mission. I can't even tell you. I just love the gospel so much. It would be so selfish of me to not share my knowledge of the gospel with others. Side story: It relates, don't worry. So, this July I have the opportunity to be in the Hill Cumorah Pageant (excited!!). So, two hours before the deadline I was scrambling to finish my application. (I wasn't procrastinating, I had just heard about it.) One of the questions asked why I thought I should be part of the pageant. I was at a loss. I've never done anything like this. So I decided to respond with my testimony. It's simple, but "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass." Then I went on comparing the gospel to food. You're probably thinking, "what the?!" but let me explain. When I have food that is bombin' (like the Seafood Brodetto from Olive Garden) I have to share it! I can't keep something so good to myself. I want others to have it and experience the joy it brings. That's how I feel about the gospel.  Everyone needs a taste. So that's what I want to do. Give the world the taste of joy.   This song helps explain how I feel about the gospel. It is wonderful! I can't even describe it. It brings me happiness, comfort, excitement, encouragement, confidence. The list goes on. Watch out world! Sister Jensen is coming!! Too bad I have to wait until November to even start my papers...

There's Something About Mary

So... I can't decide what I want my blog to be like quite yet, whether to make it like a "live life with Mary" or "this is very thought provoking/entertaining" kind of blog. So, for now, I'm just going to talk about me. Wow, how boring can I be?! Haha. Hey, at least I'm posting about something.

Facts about Mary:
When you see that my blog is called "L-O-V-E" you may think, "Geez louise, Mary! You're such a cheese ball!" I know. I know. I can't help it. I love love. Seriously. I feel that love is the greatest (huge understatement) thing/feeling/emotion/gift/experience/blessing ever! I try to use love as much as possible in my thoughts, words, and deeds. Believe me, sometimes it gets a bit excessive and sometimes it's not enough. There are some things I probably shouldn't love so much, like chocolate cupcakes with coconut buttercream frosting (scrumptious!), and things I should express my love for much more, like my family and friends (even more scrumptious! ...just kidding). I believe there is great power in love. Just simply thinking that word can cause miracles, even to the smallest degree. But there's no such thing as a small miracle in my eyes. :) My favorite quote is, "If you love the life you live, you will live a life of love." That is so true! I have definitely experienced that in my life.

Some things I love:

  • Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I can't imagine life without it's fabulousness. Actually, I don't want to. It is bliss. :)
  • The 3 F's: My faith, family, and friends. The greatest blessings in my life.
  • My dog, George.
  • Life. It is wonderful.
  • Clouds. They are beautiful in every way and they're different everyday!
  • People. Sheesh, I love people! Especially children and the elderly. I guess everyone in the middle too. ;)
  • The world. I plan to see, or rather, take in ALL of it's wonderfulness... eventually.
  • Listening.
  • Music.
  • The changing of the seasons. I like each season, but I love the changing process most.
Okay, that's plenty. Boy, I'm random!

Disclaimer:

I don't know what I am doing with this, or really, why I'm doing this. I just am. I think I'm blogging for the same reason Nacho Libre wears stretchy pants in his room... "It's for fun." :) Honestly, I have this idea in my head that there are only three types of people that blog. 1. Moms with recipes and tips they want to share with the world, 2. married people, and 3. girls on the brink of marriage. Haha! I know this isn't true, but that thought is stuck in my mind. So, I'm now joining the wonderful world of blogs and maybe it will push that idea out of my head. Who knows, this could be something I love to do.
